The location of Faviken is a quiet and extremely winter wonderland about 800 kilometers north of Stockholm and a half hour drive from the famous Swedish ski resort Åre. Faviken is not only a restaurant but also a private domain of no less than 8000 hectares established in 1885. Great book by Magnus N. who took the restaurant world be storm with his Faviken. The personal stories chronicling his highs, lows, struggles, and future plans are amazing, and the recipes come straight off his restaurant menu. I was a bit put off by the price, but the book is meaty and full of great photos. The writing is thoughtful, in depth.
